Default HygroSet II digital problem... Help!

Hey guys,

I bought a digital HygroSet II hygrometer from CI last month which is the adjustable kind. I salt tested it a couple times to make sure it was an accurate reading and when I went to turn the adjustable knob to make it read 75%, the number wouldn't change. I pulled the battery out a few times to reset and tried a bunch of things, but no luck.

I contacted CI and just got a replacement. After doing another extensive salt test, I tried adjusting to 75% and it isn't moving again! I turn the knob but the number doesn't change. I haven't pushed the "lock" button at all and reset it again with no luck.

Am I doing something wrong? Is there a trick I don't know about? I'm pretty pissed but was wondering if I need to do something the instructions aren't saying.

Please help!

i think mine i had to turn it and then hit lock, but if it isnt changing at all them prob something wrong with it. i will be honest with you, i went to walmart and bought 4 of those cheap ones for like $25 and salt tested them and they work very well. Something to consider if you want to put a couple in your wineador...

Thanks nofeardiver, you are correct. I also got an answer from some other BOTL's and it turns out that when you are turning the dial to adjust the percentage number, the number actually doesn't move until you push the lock button. So I was turning the dial expecting the numbers to move as I turned it....

So now I feel bad as the vendor I bought it from sent me a replacement and now I have 2!! They never gave me any suggestions on how to use it... you would think the instructions would make this clear.

Owell if they cant get the instructions correct then its there fault. This way you can have one at the top and one at the bottom of you new edgestar, i also have one in the middle so i can see all levels. I am hoping with the drawers from chasden that it will make mine even more stable.
