Default Skippers Cigar Lounge

So, with the repairs to my house almost completed (except for stuff I'll need in the summer like AC, dock, and power outside) I have to decide what I want to do with the 2 bedrooms I have on my first floor. They were never really used for much of anything. Well, 1 was used by my ex for what turned out to be a closet. The other one was my office. My office is now upstairs in a bedroom adjacent my master bedroom. Downstairs my old office will be used for a guest room and the back room, with 2 large windows, 1 overlooking my boat and the water, is likely to become a lounge. The other night I wanted a cigar after dinner and I had to go sit in the car... Often time I would consider a drive but I've had a few...
This should work well.
I will put in an exhaust fan and a smoke eater. I'll open 1 window slightly so the exhaust fan will draw in fresh air form there and not my heated air form the house. The first step will be the floor. The room had rugs, I will likely put in some sort of wooden floor or tiles. Years ago I put in a parquet floor in my den in my old house. It was self-stick tiles. This was a high quality floor and I'd like to do that again.
There's a big closed in that room that I'd like to use, but with the cigar smoking in there I will need to be selective as to what goes in.
A few leather chairs, my humidors, my trophies and awards (tae Kwon Do and fishing)... All I'll need is a stereo and a TV...

Very cool Skip, this is what I want to do when the wife and I buy later this year. It gets Damn cold in Green Bay this time of year and my cigar smoking goes from 3-10 per week to 0-2 depending on how cold it is.

Once you have your own man cave, you'll find it hard NOT to have one! Enjoy!

It seems the floor tiles I had in mind are no longer made. The peel and stick was basically industrial strenth double-stick foam tape. It gave the floor a nice feel.
So I'm looking at this. I figure I will need around 6 boxes.

It is applied with a glue. I even think my trowels survived sandy as they were in the top of my tool chest.

Skiper that floor looks good but the review wasn't great....

This is the worst floor ever. Floor does not worth the $3.09/sf. I tried to match an existing floor for a house I just purchased. The first thing, the color is misleading. I ordered a lighter color and for whatever reason I received the darker color. The tiles come apart when installing and the glue does not stick. I wasted $1,400.

I'm even thinking of a nice chair-rail and some color below the rail and your typical beige above it...

That room would be awesome for a man cave.

Sounds great -- make the closet the humidor and put an airtight sealed glass door-- cedar walls and shelving -- either way great idea
