I've been storing Tatuaje Noellas sticks in empty Habana Montecristo Tubos (and the spanish cedar wrap that came in the Habana) and I swear they taste better but it could be all the rum I drink.

I am currently trying the same experiment with Serie V Lanceros stored in Cain F Lancero tubes and I will get back to you with results.

Caps off for those but caps stay on until they ever come off, I feel like I am sealing in the Nicaraguan air that they were sheathed in.

I agree that 70 is a nice number but for 60 ring gauge maybe a wee bit too much moisture and eventually a sour smoke... dryer 60 RG is my preference

I just got my Heartfelt beads, but there was no instruction on how to saturate them. I assume you just use distilled water right?

NO!!!!!
You need to lay them out on a dish and spray them lightly. Over-water them and they crack open.
Then once they are wet (and somewhat sticky as water likes to adhear to itself) you can TRY to put them back in your humidifier...
I HATE those beads mostly for that reason.

If you got a mesh bag Rick, you can just mist them right through the bag, no need to empty them out. I used those in my older humidor. After you mist them, I would wrap the whole thing in a clean dry towel for a few minutes so that the moisture on the mesh bag itself gets absorbed.

Oh, and yes, distilled water only, and do yourself a favor and buy a cheap spray bottle from the dollar store

Yeah, its the bag you can order with the beads. I still need to find a good sealing cooler. I told Nick, even though they look the same, they all seal differently.

a typical cooler will seal just fine. I wouldn't sweat it.
PS, all of my coolers are humidified with a cup of distilled water and a piece of foam.

I was just going by the "dollar bill" test. Most seal good on the front, but not so good on the sides.

not a good way to test a cooler. It's plastic and the bill will slide through even on a decent seal.
Just trust it to work ok... then if you have issues retire that one to beer and get another for $20
