Yea how do you keep it burning? Mine go out after a while. They won't burn all the way to the tip.

Thank you all. To answer a few of the questions....

If the cigar is good, I don't waste much. I smoke it until I can't hold it. I've even used alligator clips before. It's a little more tricky with the nub because I'm trying to hold the ash. I hold it straight up and draw lightly when it gets close. It's close enough that it burns almost all the way to the very tip. What little is left, I did torch. If you look close, you can actually see the cap where I burnt it close to the top. It burnt itself to that point. I posted another one somewhere that Skipper moved to the Nubstand Gallery that shows the Nub in all the stages. Before the band, then how far I actually smoked it, then it burnt down almost all the way itself. I just gave it a little help at the end.

Joe posted one that was perfectly straight. I don't know if his bunt out all the way by itself, or if he helped it.

I know I try for one every time I smoke a Nub. I've only gotten 2 in the last month. I smoke at least one Nub a day....so you can do the math.

Oh...and my fingers do get hot. I guess I just got used to it from my misguided youth.

My tribute to you was done basically the same way...I hate to admit it but I used one of those corn holders to get to about a quarter inch and then let it go out...got it to stand and torched the remaining bit of wrapper...thumb and forefinger did get a little blister action before I found something to hold it with!!

This weekend I smoked three nubs...lost the ash on each...no stands!!!

I've lost the ash on mine the last 2 days as well. Sometimes they just get to crooked.
