Hi Mav,
Thanks and it was pretty easy stuff. First nine pieces of 4' long pine, each 4" square, laminated together to make one 4' long by 12" square log. Then lathed down to get the basic shape, then with a respicricating saw cut the bottom third to look like the ash. Then three coats of sealer and primer. At this stage it gets interesting as I mixed about four different pallets of brown paint, all with different degrees of black added for the body of the cigar. Then again three or four pallets of white paint with various amounts of black added for the ash. I found that taking a few pics of a smoked nub and looking at the pics gave me a pretty good idea of colours and textures. The whole process took about five days and really wasn't that difficult, just a little care and patience.

By the way it has been a great hit sitting on the counter in our store.

Good luck and maybe you should try one twice the size, 8 foot high and two foot thick, wow, how good would that be.

One of my girls, Michelle did this one at the official launch of nub in Oz last Monday night. She has just been nominated as Bartender of the year, maybe she should also get a nuber of the year nomination in Oz.

Yep, she sure is sweet, and loads of fun in the bar. And as a side issue she works well and loves her cigars.

Well, from the sounds of it, I'm gonna have to come down there and hang out with you guys. Hopefully one day it'll happen. Thanks for the pics and thanks for the instructions on how to make that awesome giant Nub.

Just freaking great. Yet another reason I need to make it down under! Been trying for years to make that trip (since my son went 12 years ago) but haven't quite made it yet. When I do I'm coming for pictures. Great job!

And we can all hang out in our bar, lots of great whisky (other booze as well) and more cigars than you can poke a stick at. Plenty of accomodation on hand, all the kids have gone, at last!

That joker is bad to the bone, i need one of these... it would be cool if you could build a smaller version and build an ashtray in the top...
