I'm curious.....
My staple NUB is a 354 Connecticut. It's usually a perfect 40 minute or so smoke usually. Sometimes I'd like a little more time.
I was about to order another box and thought maybe I'd go with a 358 for a little longer smoke although I like the 54 ring size. I noticed Sam has the 354 and 358 both showing as a 38 minute smoke on the NUB site. 460 at 60 minutes.
Anyone else have the same experience, that a 358 and 354 are about the same time? Do you notice a difference in smoking one over the other?
I'm torn between sticking with a 354 or going with a 358 or even a 460 for a little more time when I have the time.
I guess the question is, between the 3 sizes, what do you notice different about each one as far as: time as well as flavor or overall smoking experience? I've got room in my now dedicated NUB humi for 1 more box! :smiley-dance:

I think the 460 is the perfect size. It is not to small, not too big and, as always, tastes great! I smoke cammies and habanos as I am not a huge mild-smoke fan. As far as time goes, I haven't noticed that big of a difference between the 354 and 358 ( 30 mins give or take). The 460 seems to provide the right amount of smoke time for me, which is about an hour. The 464 blows my mind, so I shy away ...haha

I love the 460. however i have no preference. i think i have each in my humi right now so i will have to pay attention next time i smoke one!
i am actually getting a new humi and will have a 50CT dedicated only to Nubs. i am holding out on a box until the Maduro comes out. if they are as good as the other cigars (which i suspect they will be), then i will be a very happy camper!!!

i never pay much attention to the size or how long it takes. I just chose by color.

Yeah, same here....
Although, if memory serves me correcly, the 354 and 358 are VERY close in smoke time.

I haven't smoked any NUB smaller tha a 460. I really like the 466 sizes, they last and last and last. Oh, yes I do get about an hour out od the 460 size.
I smoked a 358 cammie and a 460 connie yesterday each took about 40 mins. I prefer the 460 size over the smaller gauges. It just looks tougher!!!

I figure the smoking time varies from person to person. It all depends on how heavy you puff, how quick you puff, how far down you prefer to smoke it, etc. I haven't recorded my times yet, and I was sick all weekend so I didn't get to smoke at all, but next time I smoke a Nub, I'll test it out and see what times I can come up with.

Nub Connecticut is also my favorite. I have not read the response so forgive if I am saying the same thing others have said, but this is how I feel about it.
When I want a good enjoyable smoke but don't have an hour or two to kill, the 354s come out. I've tried all the Connecticuts but have now run out of 358s and won't get any more. I am now smoking only the 464Ts, the 460s, and 358s. I found the 358s to not be that much different than the 354s so why bother. I could not tell the difference between the 354 and 358 but since Sam says the 354 is the optimal size for the Connecticut, I believe him. When I have time to kill a couple of hours at the smoke shop, I take the 464T or the 460. They both smoke the same for me so why I have both I really don't know. I guess sometimes I like the shape of the torp better, other times the blunts (not that kind of blunt) better. Personally I cannot tell the difference between the way the two smoke but I think the torp takes a little longer. I find the torp easier to clip but the 460 easier to punch, so a lot depends on if I am in a clipping mood or a punching mood and which cutter I have chosen to take. If I had to choose only two it would be the 464T and the 354. Those two would satisfy me to the end of my days quite nicely.
