View Full Version : Possible Nub group buy?

First off, this is only a feeler but with the passage of the S-Chip bill (and no mention of politics beyond just mentioning this fact) I'm thinking about purchasing a fairly large amount of Nubs before the new cigar taxes roll in.

Then a thought occurred: what would it take to produce a group buy to purchase as many Nubs as possible? I wouldn't mind spearheading this effort if it were to come to pass. I would personally go to Pennsylvania itself (if this is where the Nubs are at), obtain the bulk and send off respective shares of the Nubs to the participants of the group buy.

I don't know if Sam will support this sort of "one time" effort but I sure would like to give it a try. Hmmm...I'm considering buying $1000 worth of 460 Habano Nubs for my own personal use. Someone else may think about doing the same. You get the idea. Before you know it, we'll have our supply of Nubs to last for a long time while avoiding paying for the new taxes.

Looking for opinions. What do you think? Thanks. Radio807.

Given the price of the nub and the increased tax (35 cents more than before).. not sure how many people will jump on this..

The cost of shipping added to what you spent only saves you a couple bucks.. Unless you are willing to buy a lot of boxes, the savings wouldn't really be there .. in your case, you would save.. but again.. not if you have to travel to get them and it costs you $100+ in gas.

Hmmm...actually, I don't live that far from PA (I'm in D.C.). I should be able to transport a bunch of these cigars theoretically for next to nothing. I think that's the whole point of buying lots of boxes.

just out of curiousity.. why would you have to drive anywhere to get them? Just order them ... or hell, go to Cigar Connection in Arlington.. Mohammud sells em.
