I jumped on cigarlive about a week after getting on here. Learning a bunch about humidors and different smokes over there. But I still love the NUB!!!!!!
I practically live on www.thecameroncollector.com. He (Scotty Cameron) is a master of the flat stick and we are masters of being golf collecting nerds!

that brings up an interesting point, we should have a section where you guys can learn form the old pros things about keeping and maintaining humidors, lighters, cuttersn etc etc.

Not a bad Idea Skipper! I know I'd like to learn more about maintaining humidors, lighters and Cutters.

Based on what I've learned over there, I am going straight to a 28 bottle wine cooler for my first humidor. It's a relatively easy switch to make with just a few items and you get a 500-750 count humi that can hold full boxes for less than $200 (if you get a used or scratch 'n dent cooler to start with).

I'm on this, VWVortex, WFSU.Net (both of which are Volkswagen enthusiast sites) as well as Photography-on-the.net..... this just happens to be the only cigar forum currently, but it is definitely enough to keep me occupied, some great people here!
and after reading that, a FAQ or informational section about learning tricks to maintaining and keeping humidors and cigars would be amazing and extremely helpful... I know that JRCigars.com has their "JR University" where I learned a decent amount of the basics, but it helps to hear what real people have experienced in real life

I'm a member of CigarLive (as of today), ClubStogie, CigarOutcast, and Social Cigar. This is where I do the majority of my posting though. No offense to the other sites, but I feel most at home here, with you guys. It's like a big group of buddies chatting here, other sites don't seem as informal, or they're just an unorganized group of random chatter. I would love if we had a section to learn, other than from Swanson's threads.
As for non-cigar related, we started a forum for the bar in my basement, it now has 60+ members. It's really just for the people that have been there though, it's a great way for me and my local buddies to talk and schedule events. I'm a member of a few Photoshop/Graphic Arts forums as well. As far as cars go, I'm a member of some Honda Accord and Acura TSX forums, although I don't do much with my cars anymore. Just don't have the time or money these days.

I also belong to cigar family. It's a great site...albeit a bit tough on newbies. It's a very generous site when it comes to causes and trading cigars.

I do not belong to any other cigar sites. The only other sites I go to all are for my metal detecting.

I'd like to get an invite to CigatOutcast. Oh and I'm on botl.org, am a member of CigarLive but don't think I'll ever post there again, have been bashed raped and gangslammed over at CigarPass. My heart belongs to GNESO.com but somebody let the domain run out...

CigarFamily.com is my primary stogie board. Great site. Word to the wise: if you're new to the board, don't try to impress anyone. They can be tough on "know-it-all" newbies but are a great bunch of guys. Awesomely generous in trades and very "cigar smart". Drew Newman, Carlito Fuente, Pete (tatuaje) Dion (Illusione) and a host of others are regular posters on the board. Oh..if you trade: a 5 pack usually means 5 +2-4 bonus cigars. Keep that in mind--that's what you'll be getting in return. They also don't allow profiteering even on the aged stuff. They figure we're all brothers of the leaf and we should all benefit from the price each of us paid, not present value. I'd highly recommend the board.

For now, you have to be recommended (sponsored) by someone that knows you or have had pryor experiences with you . I'm sure there are exceptions to the rules but this is the only way right now to my understanding.

nothing beats Nublive! While this board is dedicated to the brand Nub, stogiechat is a great general purpose board with a good tightly knit community. And very little attitude.
